Missouri Pacific Railroad Perpetual Calender Circa 1930

Aaw was eventually purchased (or merged? ) with shaw-barton. Information here si from a letter they provided to me in 1981, and the letter is included in this sale. This perpetual calendar was created with a photolithography process on a zinc plate sometime between 1925 and the early 1930's. Engine 6615 of the missouri pacific lines is springing out of our past in this very rare example of railroad memorabilia.

This piece captures the essenec of nostalgia. The cardboard letters have not been removed from their holder in over 2 decades, but the calendar does show some age. All months and days (as far as i can remember) are present. How it worked is the cardboard inserts were removed and rotated to display the correct day and month, then slid back into the holder. I obtained this piece frmo a friend of the family before she passed on. She had family who worked in the railroad industry. The calendar measures 19 inches high adn 13 inches wide and hangs from a small chain.
